In October 2022, I had someone who told me- right when the tech layoffs started happening, as the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were fast approaching- that sending applications was getting her nowhere and if she didn't land a job by March 2023, she would be required to move back to her country of origin.
Long story short, I didn't want her to risk making a misstep because the consequences would mean missing her visa deadline, so in the interest of time, I'd tweak her job search materials for her, find her the right jobs to apply to, reach out to all my connections and those who I didn't even know but who could potentially lead to opportunities for her, because I knew the US needed someone with her talent and potential. In the end, she not only got her offer before her visa expired, but she received a couple other offers and several job leads, which she generously shared with her friends who were still looking.
It was that experience with her and several other job searchers where I decided to take things a step further and not just coach them but also take on whatever job search tasks were getting in the way of interviews and offers, that led me to come up with a program that has become The Job Search Accelerator, which I'm rather fond of because I'm able to use my own transferable skills to help people land jobs faster, with no guesswork and less frustration.
Job search tools are awesome except a lot of job searchers don't even have the time to devote to job searching. Career coaches are great (yes, I'm biased because I happen to be a career coach) except career coaches are there to guide you, support you and teach you. They're not there to do your job searching for you.
If you don't have the time to job search or have been DIY'ing it for so long that the very idea of sending out yet another application - knowing that you're most likely going to get rejected- makes your stomach hurt, all these tools and resources aren't as useful as they could be.
Long before I was a career coach, I was in recruiting. I enjoyed 3rd party recruiting the most because of the sales/biz dev aspect of "The Hunt". No surprise there because before I was ever a recruiter, I was in 100% commission sales roles. I was responsible for finding my own client leads and sourcing my own candidates. Luckily, prior to doing sales, I'd worked both as an ad agency AE and PR Director, and then as a marketing director so I was able to augment the selling with my background in integrated marketing.
How is The Job Search Accelerator different? Job searching is sales and marketing at a micro-level. I don't treat you as someone who needs to be career coached. I treat you like I did every client that came to me for recruiting, sales and marketing assistance. And guess what? It works!
Spots are limited because, admittedly, there's only one of me and it is labor-intensive. Sign up for a free initial consultation to see if it's the right solution for you.
